No. We're not delaying it. There is no point in delaying it. If we didn't want an election this year, then people would not have made nominations this year.
Besides, Brooder? Why are you making decision with Kracken when this is something that should be discussed with the realm and it's officers?
Voting will be done next sunday at 3pm at Aldeen Park. We'll be doing it by silent ballet. We'll go out to dinner to celebrate the end of the season.
If you cannot make it, contact Wren via PM on the boards with your votes. Votes will be due by Sunday the 28th. The winners will be announced the following monday.
The following people are the ONLY people allowed to vote, because they are the ONLY people who have paid dues this year.
Tenyr Togot Bluff Quarian Saxivarus Drakken Waffle Swerv Wilhelm Froz Kracken Draidel Renell Ironside
If any members other than the ones listed here tries to cast a vote, they will be ignored.
Since officers are required to pay dues, it seems Quarian will be our new Spreme Kommandant by default. Congratulations, Quarian!
It's done, it's done, it's done. I'll have ballots and a sealed ballot box out there sunday.
To remind:
Premier
Ironside Kracken
Kommandant
Renell Waffle
See you guys on sunday.

1.) It's cold out. No one will come to practice. And even if people come out, it's not a official practice. 2.) People either have forgotten to pay or in some cases did not know. This gives them time. 3.) There is no set and officalized procedure. Therefore it's not valid. 4.) Having a set Con should be our number one priority. 5.) No one should trust proxy voting by anyone. 6.) No one single person should collect proxy voting. 7.) Not everyone can make it to practice on Sunday.
This is why the election will be delayed until next Spring.

I second holding it off till spring because of all the problems this has brought up. No one seems to be able to agree that things are good to go for anything. Yes, me and Brooder looked over the realm con today. And yes, it had a ton of problems.
Hell the section on how we vote just said "inset voting procedure."
The dues page was off because of either mis-communication or waving it off. Lloyd I'm pretty sure didn't pay but he has put forth on some build days and donated materials.
Holding it off till spring would get everyone involved, we could do the easy ballot at the park and count them up right there. Holding it off will also get an increase in realm dues and provide a better time and place to explain just how the realm works behind the scenes, which based on all this is a complete clusterfuck right now. Hell, Woozle had no idea about the realm dues but her boyfriend paid? Lloyd didn't make the deadline either, and according to our, as kara put it; "never approved constitution" he should have been kicked out then and there. BUT, not the case because NO ONE CARED AT THE TIME. Anyone remember how the last election went? Hmmm? Went out for pizza, people were nominated and everyone just raised their hands to vote. Why the sudden bitchyness toward public voting?
But back to topic, voting to hold it off. Ironside I'm pretty sure wants it done and over with I'm guessing, honestly I just want to stop beating the dead horse now but obligation says I need to stop and consider everything going on. Sooo, not to be a dick but Lloyd has the final say on which way this goes now.
Have fun dammit, it's just a stupid foam fighting sport.

Okay, I'm stepping in here cause apparently someone needs too. I'm tired of all this crap that's going on. We're starting over. Nominations are as stands and listed above.
This is what is going on: Elections shall be postponed UNTIL 6 weeks from today, Sunday, November 14th. This gives us about 6 weeks or so until Wolfpack Opener, I believe...the official start of the 2011 season.
That being said: I have three ideas on to have this vote go down. Unpaid members are not voting. Simple as that.
1.) We get together somewhere, whether it be a practice or just hanging out and everyone fills out an already made ballot that goes into a box. No one knows who votes for who. Keep it simple. If you can't make it to the get-together, then you have a few days prior to the vote to email, text, call, see me in person with your voting choice. I will tally the absentee votes and bring them sealed to the vote and put them in the box first. Then I will tally all the votes and announce who won what.
2.) We do it all in person. We do "private public vote". The people running for the position go hide somewhere, people raise hands when the name of candidate is called, I count them, record it. Bing, bang boom. Simple as that.
3.) If people don't trust me enough to count the absentee votes on my own, we do this: Everyone comes over to my place...perhaps we do a build day, a garb day, both, or just have a party or hang out or something. everyone that is there votes by either silent ballot or the option two method. Absentee voting will be open by email only. I will not open the emails until the day of the vote when the votes are being tallied. Someone comes in and notes that the emails have not been opened yet. That person leaves room and I go through the emails...or the person could be another unpaid, none voting member...or two of them if you really want, to witness the counting of the ballots.
There's your options. Pick one.

I say we hold off on voting until our realm con is written. That being said I believe a group of people should be help in writing the con either 3 or 5 people should put on this task. I would say the 5 people so that way they can really get this moving well. Also folks the reason we are all to our guns on this is we all want what is best for our realm. That being said lets start to get the realm con written and finalized. Now who should we get to help and start to write this thing??? and remember we have a rough draft so let work from there.

Just throwing this out there, if we want to get a committee together like Wren and Wilhelm have advised, I have a heated garage, tables, etc we (the committee) can get together work this out in a day, type it up, and get it ratified.
However we would need to get the people Wren stated involved most i believe, meaning more than Wilhelm suggested but as long as we keep in under 10 i think well be okay. That is as long as order holds up in the draft room.
My suggested Committee
Brooder Kracken Lloyd Ironside Renell Lomion Quarian Frozgaar Myself Wilhelm
Unless 10 is too many we could vote on a smaller committee., i see these people (along with Kara who would probably actually write the damn thing down and get it typed up, etc) as being the most involved with Khador happenings and whatnot, everyone on this list is pretty obvious i think.

There's your options. Pick one. To put it simply, NO. This is why we have a ruling body is to make decision. As well as former realm leaders and officers to help with decisions like this when no one can agree on anything. And asking 10-15 people to drive 35 miles or more out of their way isn't at all making things easier. The new realm con in on the boards after me and brooder went through it and changed some things around. Mostly spelling errors and the lack of anything about voting. Everyone should go read though it and discuss from there.

Apologies for being so blunt before. I'm just trying to find some middle ground that everyone can agree on. I'm tired of all of this and just want everyone to be happy.
We really shouldn't put it off until Spring Wars though. My god, that's 5 months away.
Again, may I suggest a realm meeting cause just discussing this on the boards or in little groups and doing things going over other people's heads isn't doing anything but causing stupid drama that doesn't need to be there. I'm apologizing for my previous posts as well with this.

It shouldn't have had to come to this but I too agree the election needs to be delayed.
Hell, the election wasn't really brought to everyone's attention until last week. We should have had at least a months heads up before we even started picking nominees.
Finishing the realm constitution should be our top priority right now. We can worry about the election after that.
I would also like to 2nd the suggested committee Waffle posted. It makes sense to have all of the current Officers, Kovniks, and other influential figures of Khador be the ones to discuss and approve the contents of our constitution. Basically we'd be the founding fathers (and mothers) of Khador.

Oh, technically you're the 3rd, Froz. Sent Waffle an email via Facebook saying I liked his list and that was actually the people I would have gone with. I just didn't want have to resign in just to say that but yeah, that failed so. And thank you.

Brooder if it is just a stupid sport then why did you have to all of a sudden when no one was doing anything with the Const. start doing something with it? The elections do not technically have to do with the Constitution at all. The previous elections did not. There has been ample time to work on the Constitution. It was originally drafted when??? Almost a year and a half ago. Current leadership has not seen fit to work on it. NO ONE has seen fit to work on it..now when someone steps up and says "hey we were supposed to hold elections werent we?" Now all of a sudden there is this mad rush and all of this chaos.
I put it forth that there were supposed to be elections held according to what was agreed upon at the last elections....not what was agreed upon in the Constitution.
The elections turned into a debate about the Constitution. They are two separate and apart issues. Officers currently in positions have not seen fit to modify or ratify the draft presented. Now you want us to wait until you get a Constitution put together. The same people who previously left the draft hanging now all of a sudden are adding to it and wanting to make modifications. Posting on the board I have found at least for myself is mostly ignored as this post very well may be. I am not trying to say I am better than anyone else or know more than anyone else but I have been around this block before. I was very much a part of the drafting and ratifying of the Constitution of Dunharrow. I know how these things work. I also know that election of officers does not need to be contingent on having a Constitution. When I was a part of all of the forming of the Constitution etc with Dunharrow, the officers had been elected etc prior to one single word being drafted.
They are not contingent on one another.
Froz as far as elections go there was announcement one week prior that nominations would be taken the following week for elections.
Also on the board I believe if anyone cared to read it....

Okay at this point I am bowing out of this circus. My health is more important to me than this ridiculousness. If you kids want to continue to run this realm into the dirt be my guest. I will continue to come out and herald/marshall for practices and sell garb to new kids at a very reasonable rate. I will call Khador my realm as long as it exists. I will pay dues. I will not however, be involved in this drama llama bs. I am not a well person and my illness does not react well to stress.
Have a good time with pissing contest.

hmm. politics. above or below the knee. why does ANY of this matter if we as a realm uphold the honor, rules, and safety of the sport. i agree there are things that may need to be changed. but simply debating and arguing amongst ourselves has never worked in earth's past, why try it in ours?
needless to say. if we must institute politics which have destroyed as many realms and units as they have helped. then by all means wait until spring so we all may gather our thoughts.
needless to say. unless told i cant. i still look forward to next spring were i shall resume the insanely fun beating of people with foam swords. to me a sport is a sport. politics are politics, sport is sport. as long as we follow the rules, why need them.
