My last post wasn't aimed at you Dracken. It was aimed at the situation in general.

Alright back on track. From what I gather is that 5 people are infavor of establishing the realm Con first, then conduct elections next spring in accordance to the realm Con. Two want to do the apparent original plan, which is to hold elections next Sunday. And two want to get a committee organized, then hold elections afterwards.
In regards to the elections, I still hold my position that realm Con comes first, so then we will then all agree on elections per-see-ger (fucken hooked on phonics), then execute it when the off season ends around April. That way, we are all on the same level and can avoid the stuff we've already seen this past few days.

This is me putting in my two cents as a Kovnik.
If we're going to agree to play by the rules of the sport, we need a constitution.
The idea of a constitution is that the constitution acts as a contract between the people it governs as to how they will be governed. A democratic constitution lays out how the government will be formed and how it will function.
One of the things the con will lay out is how voting is to be conducted.
Until we have a con in place, i.e. ratified, we can't sort out this whole mess about voting.
To clarify, Brooder is right. To get this mess sorted out, we need to set in stone the method to do it. We need to get this committee going, get the thing written and ratified, then we can worry about voting in officials.

I am tending to lean towards agreeing with Brooder and Q, and to Kracken
I know we dont have to re-write the thing, not neccesarily what im suggesting, but we do need to get a full & final draft finished and ratified before we can do any vote.
That being said my committee proposed would be mainly for ironing out said kinks first. I want this realm to succeed as much as the rest of us but we need to get everything in order
And by order i not only mean written down and passed but also respecting everyone involved in the process right now's opinion and ideas. Keep the drama/yelling/hurt feelings out of it and debate things like civilized fucking adults.

We need to get this committee going, get the thing written and ratified, then we can worry about voting in officials. I tried to do this last year. No one wanted to hear anything I had to say. Apparently, experience with this sort of thing is not wanted or needed. I made several suggestions which were promptly ignored. Why then would I now want to participate in getting a Constitution ratified? I have a question on that as well. How do you propose to go about getting the Constitution approved? Obviously there will need to be a vote on that. What will be your criteria as far as "those active in the realm" will that be paid members or just people who come out and fight or what?? "Article 7. Miscellaneous • 7.01 This Constitution shall be presented to the current members of Khador and shall be ratified by majority vote of those currently active within the realm." It does not say specifically those who are paid members so is not clear as to who exactly will be allowed to vote on the Constitution. It should say "those who are currently active paid members within the realm"

I'm not sure if I currently have any say in this, but I would like to sit in on the writing of C.O.K. (Constitution of Khador).

Renell is right in regards to article seven part. That is something I was thinking about earlier. What I think should be considered criteria is if they are a veteran or what I would call a "medium" fighter. I typically define a medium fighter as someone who has a basic comprehensive knowledge and workings of the sport both on (basic fighting knowledge and on field conduct etc) and off the field (social aspect, how units work, off field conduct etc) and attends practice and events on a regularly for no less than two years. A veteran of course is a level above that.
Now, if we are to do the committee, we need to decide who can and can not attend. It is unfortunate that we may have to disclud people who want in, but that's just the way it goes. I think that a person must be considered no less than a medium fighter to attend. If a person is non com, then that medium still applies but only without the fighting skills aspect. Also, it does not mean they have to be a part of Khador for more than two years, just around the sport but is now Khador. I included that part because it is my opinion that Swerv should be allowed in this if he wants to.

Fay had an excellent idea in regards to the voting. Whenever it is next that we hold a vote, Brooder could set up the vote on the boards in a password protected thread like the officers corner. When voting opens, send out a mass email to everyone "registered" to vote that contains that password. Set it up with polls for each position.
I thought it was a good idea because it solves the issue just having to man up in regards to knowing who voted which way (it would be ideal for everyone to just man up, but it's not realistic to expect it), and it solves the issue of people not being able to make it to practice to be able to vote.
Just thought I'd pass this along.

I agree that we need vote on how we are going to vote before we can vote.

I agree that we need vote on how we are going to vote before we can vote. Exactly that kind of smartass comment that makes me not want to have anything to do with forming the Constitution.

So do we want to go by Waffle's list of people for the committee? If so than I'd say we actually sit down and talk this out starting the first weekend of Dec.

I would say wait until folks are done with school, then work on it, it getting towards the end of the semester, and It would be good not to lump this on top of everything.

Yay for being fucking adults. Sorry, for some reason that made me laugh. Dang, I don't go online for a day and you guys go post happy. LOL.
I've actually been working on the Con on my own, hope you guys don't mind. Took Ironsides's draft (which actually had a lot of the same stuff) and the other draft...version two and put them together basically. Added in some notes and stuff too....suggestions, questions, etc. Of course, I will not do anything further with this until I can bring it to the committee....unless we want to totally start all over...planning on just using all drafts as a starting point.
As for Committee, I agree with it and the talking in person. Online is just making everything crazy. You think of more in person too and debate and all that good stuff. Sadly, Wilhelm, I like doing this as soon as possible. I'm still not in agreement with waiting UNTIL spring to do the vote. Then any new officers are taking over when the season as already started. With all the crap that's gone on this year, I think we should go into the season with a fresh start. New Con...well an actual Con finally...and new officers already voted in. But we can discuss that AFTER we get the Con in order.
Might take more than one side down too.
Oh yeah, I'm in for the first weekend in December. Just let me know when earlier enough to make sure I have the time off.

By the first weekend of December do you mean first Sunday? If so, I'll for sure be there. If we do it on the saturday I'll have to ask off from work.
