I see in the BoW that there is a min weight for flails (as a one handed weapon ), but there is nothing on maximum weight that is listed. Is this because there is no max, just what a person feels comfortable swinging or am I completly wrong about this? Also does the cover mater as long as the chain dosn't exceed 6 inches?

There is no max weight for a flail. However, because of the length restrictions on flails, flails can never be Red, wether they meet weight or not.
Unless you're trying to cheese rules by using an odd cover to get a longer chain reach, then I don't see how the chain would effect anything with the cover. Cover just needs to conform to the BoW standards.

Understanding that there is no such thing as a red flail, just wondering because the new one I'm working on is heavy'er than the one I use now. Because of the design of the new flail head is what I want people to see, it was suggested that I use nylons as a cover (assumeing I can get past the stretch factor). Not trying to "cheese" anything, just makeing a new weapon that looks cool and is legal.

There isn't really a weight limit, just remember that it has to pass the hit test. Nylons are alright but they tend to rip up pretty easy.

lol sorry, just adding in more detail on things than is needed.
But yeah, as long as it passes hit and conforms to all the other rules of the BoW, you should be good to go.
