Now time for my fat ass to chime in. There's a ton of little things you can do to promote healthier eating.
Swap whole/2% milk for skim, or Soy. Swap processed white flour produces with whole grain products. Swap canned/frozen fruit and vegetables for fresh. Swap white rice for brown. Kill fast food and frozen dinners. Cook for yourself.

This is some of the best stuff you can put in your body. www.menshealth.com/mhlists/nutritious_foods_for_a_healthy_body/index.phpReally good info. If I could afford to, I'd eat only the stuff on this list. It sucks that the cheapest food is always the worst for you. When it comes to nutrition, it has little to do with watching calories and alot to do with eating the right things. My favorite things on this list include: broccoli, spinach, bananas, sweet potato (Chuck Norris of root veggies), and of course, Beef (Grass fed to be specific.. shits way expensive though.) Also, you can't forget that exercise is at least just as important as nutrition, if not a little bit more (in my opinion). That's where I've been going wrong lately. I haven't been exercising nearly as much as I use to (practically not at all) and as a result I'm getting lazy with what I eat and how I eat it. The more you exercise, the more your body craves real food such as the stuff on that list. In other words, the more you work out the easier it is to eat healthier. That's why I'm taking a weight lifting class at RVC this coming semester, so I have no choice BUT to exercise. XD Hopefully I'll return to my studmuffin physique in time for next season. lol

I'm sure we all know what to do (exercise) and what not to eat but we just don't do it... at least, those of us like myself. :-P That's what new year's resolutions are for, right? ;-)

Muscle burns calories. ...even while not doing anything. So the more you have, the more you burn. For those of us just beginning, take 15minutes out of your day to kick up your heart rate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkKCVCZe474I'll admit that I really started to notice a change in the rate of my progress once I changed my diet for the better. It's hard to start eating healthy, but if you can keep up with it for a month it comes natural after that. Also, I find it cheaper to healthy. If you cook your meals in large amounts and just freeze your food you'll have several meals through the week. It seems more pricy at first, but it will save you over time.

In regards to Swerv's video, I stress the importance of making sure the pivot point is your abs, not your neck. You want to first do it slowly to get learn good form, and then do it at normal speed. Just bobbing your head back and forth won't do anything and could injur you. I've seen far too many people bob their head while doing things of that nature. Also, if doing anything becomes to easy, just either hold a weight behind or use your legs to hold on to a medicen ball like I do. Also also, roman crunches = awesome. Also also also, you can't target fat burn. Either you lose it all around your body or you don't lose it at all. Targeting fat burn is nothing more then a boldfaced lie by the weight loss industry (and I use that term very loosely because they actually don't want you to be successful). Also also also also, I like this guy's video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrUUEujszlY I do just about everything he explained, along with roman crunches. In regards to Kara's post, just cut out stuff that your body doesn't need such as pop and cut down the amount of food you eat per setting. That's what I've been doing and with pleasing results. A couple of weeks ago, for the first time ever, I could not finish the last third of a subway sandwich.
