It's wintertime, which is the time that most Belegarth people use to sew new garb. The lack of good garb is, in my opinion, the second biggest issue we have in Khador right now. We have certain vets who look like complete trash, and when we have visitors, they look spiffy as hell, which makes us look bad by comparison. With this in mind, I am going to announce a challenge to every member of Khador. I want each and every one of you to sew yourself a new set of garb. This means, new pants, tunics, tabards, whatever you want, but it must be a new complete set of garb. It can be either for fighting or feast garb, I don't care. I just want you all to know that the bar of what should be fly needs to be rised. If you think you're okay, just let me remind you that people's first impression of you is your appearance. And honestly, what I wear is considered average. I, along with yourself, can look a lot better with a little effort. With that being said, I want this thread to be about you posting your next garb project design. Then, we will all hold each other accountable on making it and wearing it. I'd also be happy to help you design and teach you to sew to the best of my abilities when time permits for me.
Edit: Pic taken down because I don't like it.

Good show, old top. Exalted. We absolutely need to raise the bar on our garb standards. I like to think my stuff is okay, at best, but I could really benefit from getting some newer, nicer looking garb.
That being said, Brooder, I would absolutely love your help in designing some garb for me and for learning how to sew. Maybe if the winter training day goes down, it would be a good opportunity to teach everyone at once some methods to designing and making garb.

I am being a seafish here.... I hope you're not an Anglerfish. Those scare the shit out of me. You should get in on the bandwagon of helping people learn to sew and such, Ma. As a matter of fact, we should make a day out of this.

There should totally be a garb day, that would be sweet. Also, at said garb day someone could possibly teach me how to use my brand-spankin new sewing machine and then I could be a lot more help to others. :-D I'm a hands-on learner. Yes, I already read the instruction manual and got as far as the actual sewing but the thread keeps breaking and I'm at a loss at this point. Would be great to put this expensive box to use and at the same, helping others out to make garb efficiently. :-)

Which now reminds me of my own little sewing machine that I'm not even sure works! =D I totally need to learn how to use it a little better. I vaguely know how to thread a bobbin and set the thing up, but that's about it.

I fully endorse the idea of making a 'teach us how to sew day'. Be it learning from Renell or Brooder or Lomion or whoever. If training day goes down, we should go out of our way to pull off a sewing class. Even if it's just basic stuff. How to work a machine, how to make a belt flag, how to make a simple tunic, so on and so forth.
The more I think about training day, the more I want it to happen.
