The Planet Earth documentaries are back on for their new season and wanted to point out some good stuff.
The new season is called Life. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's great stuff. Reason though that I started the thread here is because if you do catch it you should read between the lines a little on how animals hunt. To put is simply: It's never a fair fight. Any animal on the show knows when to engage and break off. Amazing stuff for learning new tricks.
The one last sunday had two mircats fighting a scorpion. One would get it's attention and the other would bite off a claw or it's tail. Three bites and the thing had no defenses left. Slow and patient, picked it apart to minimize personal damage. Great stuff to catch if you can.

ah, natures raw talent at the arts of war are clearly superior to all of our measly human attemps. one cannot match the grace of the falcon, the strike speed of a snake, the agility of the animals of the forest. the clear passive power of a golden eagle as it kills a deer. oh such perfection in those animals souls, impart with us the knowledge to make us whole.
ps. WTF did i just write?

I would like to say, as far as an analogy for Belegarth, I think Kracken hit the nail on the head. He's the snake to my mongoose. Or the mongoose to my snake? I don't know animals. Either way, it's bad.
And Dracken, I'd like to raise a point about modern wars that counters your argument. The flight crew of the Anola Gay, the bomber that dropped the first A Bomb on Hiroshima. The bombadeer hit one button, or pulled a lever, or whatever he did, and 66,000 people died. How's that for grace and effeciency? You want power? Look no further than the U.S. Army. Want a tank that with it's main cannon can hit a target over a mile away within six inches while moving at over 60 miles an hour? We got that. Want a machine gun that has a maximum effective range of "farther than the human eye can see"? We got that. Want a machine gun that fires 40 mm grenades? We got that too.
Hands down, the most efficient, graceful, sucessful killers on the planet are the species you belong to... lol

What happened to my damn sharks with laser-beam eyes?
But seriously, thank you to everyone for either murdering, reaming, slaughtering, or straightup missing the point I was trying to make.
But ironside gets karma.

No no, I got what you were saying. Just had to represent the species and all.
An old saying regarding teamwork, "A lone wolf never kills a deer. It takes a pack to hunt, it takes a pack to kill, it takes a pack to live."

You're welcome Kracken.
LOL to many other posts and also agreement with them.
Q, the mongoose eats the snake. Hence your comparison sounds kinda dirty. Hehe.

We got one thing nature doesn't.
Foam sticks to beat each other with.
Humanity: 1 Nature: 0
YEAH SUCK IT NATURE!
Also, the main thing Kracken was pointing out there, folks, was a type of swarmfighting tactic. One person being a diversion, while a couple other guys come in and kill the threat. Basically, it's a thing you see in both nature and in Belegarth. Awesome, huh?

Ironside, you're a genius!
We also have the ability to not only make weapons but to make the materials that make the weapons!

no. humanity has only one thing that has ever gone for itself. that would be the ability to invent better ways to kill each other. sorry, we lose. eventually we all die, nature returns. the end.

You're wrong and there's why. We invent new ways to kill nature, too. Go wallow in your wrongness and be wrong.

We beat nature all the time. We just can't beat natural disasters yet.
AKA, nobody wins. End of argument.
