Think we should try setting up a demo? An anime convention could be a helluva chance to get some publicity.

Guess I'll be the diplomat. I'll email them tonight and see if we can get something set up.

Actually a lot of the 18 plus events look like fun. Especially if they will have that titty kitty chick from the confirmed guests page in them.
I guess just try to contact them again in another couple of weeks. It might be possible that either a spam filter deleted your email or they just haven't bothered checking their inbox yet.

I got a reply, and hold onto your asses. It's a doozy. On Sat, Mar 24, 2012 at 4:55 PM, <customerservice@animeapocalypse.org> wrote: John! We just determined at the last staff meeting to have Foam-Fighting programming, and were going to hunt down a group like yours! Thanks for making the hunt easy. We would like to have Foam "battles" in our Main Programing room early Saturday and Sunday before the chairs are re-setup post rave. We would also like a panel on "making your own Foam Weapons/Equipment/Armour" "Foam-Battles and Fighting 101" and could probably be talked into a few more panels if you have other ideas. In exchange we can give your group 2 free badges per panel. We'll be in touch, Anime Apocalypse \m/>_<\m/ Oh boy, you guys. I think we can manage to do a WHOLE lot more than just a demo at this thing!

Since we're going to be limited to the number of people we can get in on this, figuring out who all should be involved is going to be a really difficult task. I'm going to want our best looking and most knowledgeable people doing stuff. That's going to depend on what panels we end up doing. I've already made a few choices on whom I want doing what, based on what they've told me. Here's what I'm going to shoot for.
Battles Fighting 101 Panel Chainmail Panel Leatherworking Panel Boffer Building Panel Medieval-Fantasy Garb Panel
If this rolls how I want it, it's going to mean 12 people. Possibly 13, since I would want three people running battles (one on waivers, one on herald, one on rules teaching) who could all switch jobs up when someone gets bored.
As the information comes to me and as I talk with the coordinators, I'll put up what I can. Not everyone in Khador is going to be hands-on in the demo or panels and it's going to be super tough to figure on where to put who where.

Being that this is still 9-8 months out, I can't 100% say that I can help for sure, but I'd probably be best to helping with the garb panel or doing paper work or helping with heralding stuff. Maybe the building being that I should have learned about it by then but still won't be as experienced as others so yeah.

Got another reply. We're in for two days of running fights and at least four panels. They're going to send some reps out to a practice to talk to me about some of the finer details and to see what we're all about. ME GUSTA

Based on the information that I have, I've gone ahead and planned out how I would like things to run for this. Namely, with who I want working where.
Here's the list of people I would like to work the demo, where I would like them to go and why I chose them.
Fighting 101 panel - Kracken, Waffle. I don't think there's anyone in Khador who knows more about the mechanics of fighting than Kracken. Teaming him with Waffle, a fighter that's on his level, should make for the best hands-on fighting class we could offer.
Garb panel - Renell, Kihose. Renell knows more about garb than most of this realm put together. If anyone should be the front man on this one, it should be her. With Nemesis unavailable, Kihose will be the best choice to partner up with her for this panel.
Armor Panel - Ixious, Ironside. Ixious offered to come up for this and I wasn't about to let his knowledge of leatherworking go to waste. With Ixious handling leather and me handling chainmail, this will be a good panel.
This may become two panels, one for leather and one for chain.
Build panel - Blikzz, Geezer. Blikzz has a lot of experience making boffers. Geezer is getting up there and has been playing with boffer ideas that sorta blow my mind. These two Kovniks heading up the build panel will work out astounding.
Battles - Frozgaar, Cobalt, Doofie. Frozgaar, with his skills in graphic design, would be a fantastic choice for this for making flyers and other such Belegarth propaganda. Cobalt, right now, is one of the best looking guys in Khador and is pretty good with talking to folks on how things work in our game. Doofie has that assertive, no bullshit attitude we'll need for telling the new guys they're doing it wrong during fighting. Not to mention, these guys could all swap out and take care of each other's jobs if someone gets bored. While everyone involved in the con can be hitting up and helping out with battles, I feel these three will be the best choices on the front line.
I've asked for an extra badge specifically for running battles, just because I would feel a lot more comfortable with three people running it instead of two. I may not get an extra badge, so keep that in mind.
I've made these decisions based on knowledge, garb, experience and a lot of other factors. I've avoided my damnest on giving people double-duty, just in case something overlaps in the final con schedule. Everything I just posted here is subject to change, based on just what panels we end up getting and who will be available/willing to help out with the demo and panels.
Post questions, comments, concerns, etc, but I can't stress enough, all of this is subject to change.

I'd gladly do flyers and any other print materials we'd need. I just need to know the basics of what we'll need. The sooner I get the details the better. Edit: This is kind of off topic but I just looked at the guest page and uhh... Hannah Minx is going to be there??? I just got way too exited. By "I", I mean my penis. Dem tittays. LOL On a related and more serious note, her videos are a pretty big deal on youtube and the internet in general. If she makes a video at this con, which is very likely, and features us in part of it... That would be some serious publicity. All the more reason to make sure we stand out at this con.
