How many rolls of blue foam do you guys use for a standard sized round?
Trying to take stock right now of my blue foam so I know what I need for tuesday when I do my building.

The standard method? 2 - 3. The 'extra stable' method? 3 1/2 - 5. Depending on size, of course.

with that in mind then, how many swords can you make with a roll? Few more questions. Kracken: I got some of those bracing pins that you suggested... how do you attach them to the core? dap or gorrilla tape, then the rope on the outside? Ironside: You still up for tuesday building? I could also do it on monday, whichever is easier for you I've also got that seat cushion thing from Dick's today.. we can make some stabbies

If you're careful with your cutting, one roll should make a couple longswords.
Sir, I will get my unfinished spear tonight and we can build whenever. What time is quaint for you, and is it okay to use your place?

my place is fine, we'll probably be out in the garage... we can get some tables setup and what not for the work. i'm looking to make two swords and a shield ((not enough counterweights to make more... but I could pick up another package of pins and get 5 made ))

No. Tape them down with strap, just enough to hold them, make sure they're straight on both sides. Run a bead of welder across the seam between the core and weight, make sure there isn't any bubbles or dryspots. Let it dry then do it again on the other reverse side. Thats FOUR lines total. When it's dry throw some strips of strap tape over it to help hold. Then use carpet tape and rope the handle. *you should also make sure the sharp points on the weights are covered with something, duct tape works.

It takes zero rolls of blue camping pad foam to make one sword, because you should never make swords with camping pad foam. Blue camping pad foam is like the cassette tapes of Belegarth technology.

I'm glad you asked! Blue camping foam breaks down faster, more common fail points, and are not as well balanced as edhellen equipment.

I could care less... though, if you're trolling,... I'm probably feeding you right now and I Should be shot..

Brooder ain't trollin'. Bo is his Knight. Bo's an amazing foamsmith. He's probably picked up a thing or two. I love me some Bo tech.
Blue foam isn't BAD. There's just substantially better options out there. It does break down faster than some of the high quality foams, that's true. But still, blue is a solid choice.
Also, for what you pay, Edhellen reblade kits are very sexy.

In that case. brooder: Sorry... i've only heard of people using blue foam for home-made stuff and little else... i'd like to make the best stuff I can.. but i'm kind of on a budget of sorts right now... *sigh* you'll have to tell me what's good for that stuff when i've had about more foamsmithing under my belt... my only successful build has been my spears.. and even those just barely pass Ironside: edhellen reblade kits? you mean they don't put their best stuff on their weapons? O.o

They do put their best stuff on their weapons. A re-blade kit is what they use to make their sword blades, "un-assembled" so you can fix one of their swords. Check out their site, I believe it's under "kits and materials" or some such...
